This past weekend we finally, after years of procrastination, made it to Halloween Horror Nights (HHN)!!! For those of you that don't know what HHN is, it is basically a night where you walk through "mazes" or themed sets based on scary movies at Universal Studios! People jump out at you or chase you with a chainsaw, things like that. I was SO excited to be scared to death! And at a price tag of $75 per person, I expected it! We had discussed getting the "Front of the Line Pass", but since it was $150 per person, we opted out.  Boy was that a BIG mistake!  Doors opened at 6:30pm, and naturally, after having an appetizer and some cold beverages at Saddle Ranch (right by the entrance to HHN), we decided to head in around 9:00pm.  First we rode the "Terror Tram" which was a train type thing that took us to the set of "Bates Motel".  As we walked this maze, we were joined by about 200 other people.  We were like a massive herd of cattle being corralled to what was supposed to be a desolate "scary" motel!! Unfortunately, because it was so crowded, the scare factor was completely eliminated. We basically walked a dusty trail for about half a mile.  A disappointing trail at that! After the not-so-Terror Tram, we checked out the wait times for the cool mazes like The Walking Dead, Alien vs Predator, Clowns 3D, and American Werwolf in London.  They all had wait times of at least 2 HOURS!!!! The Walking dead was 3 hours! Are you kidding me? So we opted for Dracula, which had some scary parts....and basically just rode some rides; Jurassic Park and The Mummy (or something like that). We skirted around the long wait times for the rides by going in the Single Rider line.  We finally left HHN around 12am.  Next year we will definitely be getting the front of the line passes and also making more of a day of it.  Needless to say though it was disappointing. Oh well, at least we had FUN together!

Last night we decided to start The Walking Dead.  I know, I know what you are thinking, "Geeeez Megan, with all the TV you watch, you have NEVER watched The Walking Dead?!?!"  I too am slightly shocked.  We watched 3 episodes.  So far, I'm kinda whatever about it.  I don't mind it, but I'm not in love.  Like I mean, so far these zombies don't seem to be too bad...they are so SLOW that you could easily outrun them right? It's not like they are vampires can move at the speed of light! Anyways, we plan on watching another tonight (Rich is really into it) and I'm sure I will get into it. Since Dallas got cancelled (still so upset), I have an opening in my lineup!

Side note, Rich and I went to Costco this weekend, and the wine consultant was there.  She talked me into a $10 tempranillo by EGUIA.  It quite delicious, easy to drink, and affordable.  That is why I will label this wine as dangerous :)
